What is the eco-friendly kiss between the two “Spider-Man” co-stars?
Confirming our collective and longstanding amusedness that Tom Holland and Zendaya might be more than just friends, the two actors were spotted kissing off-screen this week.
In contrast to their early 2000s ancestors, the two were seen kissing on the right side of a stop at a traffic light in Los Angeles on Thursday.
PDA-heavy photos obtained by Page Six show Holland gently touching Zendaya’s chin as she bends down for a kiss, before the two appear to burst into laughter.
Holland and Zendaya, who will reunite on screen as Peter Parker and MJ in the upcoming “Spider-Man: No Way Home,” have yet to discuss their relationship status. But earlier on Thursday, the couple who may be spending time with Zendaya’s mom, Claire Stoermer, suggested that whatever their current arrangement, it wasn’t exactly casual.
Fans have sensed Spidey that a romance was brewing between his behind-the-scenes co-stars for some time, with reports claiming that the couple did indeed date in 2017 following the release of “Spider-Man: Homecoming.”
The two playfully dismissed the rumors at the time and Zendaya tweeted, “My favorite is when it says we went on vacation with HA! I haven’t been on vacation in years!😂😭🤣hbu @TomHolland1996 ???”
Holland responded favorably, asking his co-stars if their press tour was considered a romantic getaway.
The two actors have since been linked with different partners, but it seems that Tobey Maguire and Kirsten Dunst’s “Spider-Man” romance pull was the first to spark the trend, and Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone following suit proved too strong.
So, after years of endless speculation and submissions, the internet is happily celebrating that Tomdaya is official after the photos have gone viral.
In a recent GQ UK interview, Holland opened up about how Zendaya has helped him adjust to life in the spotlight.
“I’m sometimes seen as a bitch to fans, mainly because I’m always so surprised that they want to take a picture with me or autograph or whatever. I would have the typical London reaction, one of instant suspicion: ‘Why are you talking to me?’”
“Zendaya saw this and quickly told me that this kind of reaction would be more aggressive than just smiling and taking pictures,” Holland explains. “He really changed the way I was more comfortable in public.”
Judging from the photos, it’s comfortable in public!
