Previously, Marvel had 2 empty slots for 2023. However, according to Screen rant, apart from the two films, the studio is already planning a third film for 2023. That means, for the first time, Marvel will release 5 films in 2023 if this slot doesn’t change. With the confirmation that there will be 4 new MCU films in 2024, a total of 7 mysterious films will be released by Marvel. So what movie is it? Here’s the review!
1. Blade — July 2023
Marvel has one slot in July 2023. This slot will most likely be filled Sword. Although development is slow, this film already has a director, writer, and main character. Mahershala Ali has been confirmed as the lead for this film in 2019. This makes Blade the only MCU film without a release date that already has a star, writer, and director. In fact, there are reports that production of this film is expected to start in July 2022 Sword in the top spot to fill the July 28, 2023 slot. Usually, Marvel will start shooting the film a year before the film is released.
2. Deadpool 3 — October 2023
Sword indeed will be a strong candidate for release ahead of Halloween, like October. However, the film is no longer considered in this slot. With out Sword, then the probability for Deadpool 3 to claim the October 3, 2023 slot will be bigger. The film has confirmed the return of Ryan Reynolds as Merc with a Mouth. Temporary, Deadpool 3 also have a writer. However, until now the director is not known. Marvel Studios boss Kevin Feige, and Ryan have said that there is a possibility the film will start production in 2022. This clearly means that the film will have a release date of 2023. Kevin has said that he knows when the film will be released. . Unless he plans to wait until 2024, October 2023 is the best place Deadpool 3.
3. Fantastic Four — November 2023
The November 2023 slot might be a good place for a first movie screening Fantastic Four MCU. This film already has a director namely Jon Watts, director of the trilogy Spider Man at MCU. While Jon may be ready to work on this film, Marvel doesn’t appear to be in a rush and is taking the risk of getting First Family wrong. Release delay Spider-Man: No Way Home until December 2021 means Jon won’t be able to devote all his attention to Fantastic Four until 2022. Given a slot on November 10, 2023, there will be enough time for Marvel and Jon to cast Reed Richards, Sue Storm, Johnny Storm, and Ben Grimm before production begins. Although many predict Fantastic Four Set for a summer release, this November 2023 slot will see the film hit theaters before Thanksgiving. This slot also makes Fantastic Four become a strong candidate for family spectacle during the holidays.
4. Captain America 4 — February 2024
Fast development Captain America 4 could mean the film will be released in the near future. This means that this film can be released in February 2024. Anthony Mackie will certainly return as Sam Wilson in this film. But, until now, Marvel has not announced the director of this film. Captain America 4 announced in Final The Falcon and the Winter Soldier with Malcolm Spellman and Dalan Musson writing the film. Captain America 4 will follow in the footsteps of Black Panther with a release on February 16, 2024 or to be precise in Black History Month. This film can also assemble Dark Avengers or Thunderbolt.
5. A-Force — May 2024
Marvel Studios won’t be waiting forever to make a team film and release it in May. A-Force will most likely fill this May 2024 slot. Team movies like Dark Avengers, lightning or Young Avengers would be more fitting to be released on Disney+. However, assembling the MCU’s biggest heroine team will be more stable if done on the big screen. Marvel has not confirmed that they will be developing an A-Force film. If this happens, the film will feature a team consisting of Captain Marvel (Brie Larson), Scarlet Witch (Elizabeth Olsen), Mighty Thor (Natalie Portman), Valkyrie (Tessa Thompson), Wasp (Evangeline Lilly), Monica Rambeau (Teyonah) . Parris), She-Hulk (Tatiana Maslany), Ms. Marvel (Faith Vellani), Shuri (Letitia Wright), and Ironheart (Dominique Thorne). Release date May 3, 2024 for A-Force obviously giving Marvel time to find a writer and director.
