KOMPAS.com – The government has begun to require visitors to public places to show proof of Covid-19 vaccination.
Health Minister Budi Gunadi Sadikin said this policy was a trial measure, considering that the Covid-19 pandemic was expected to last a long time.
“So the direction of the President, we have to” roadmap what will happen in the future, if this virus disappears, it will take years,” said Budi, during a virtual press conference via the Coordinating Ministry for Marves’ YouTube, Monday (9/8/2021).
Only those who have been vaccinated are allowed to enter or access public places.

Vaccine mandatory place
Trials for the mandatory application of the vaccine are scheduled to begin next week.
“Under the direction of the Coordinating Minister, we will immediately implement it.” field project which will digitally regulate the implementation of health protocols in 6 main activities,” explained Budi.
The 6 main activities in question include:
- Trade, both traditional such as wet markets or grocery stores, or modern such as malls or shops Department store
- Office and industrial area
- Transportation, both land, sea and air
- Tourism, hotel, restaurant or incident
- Religious event
The government plans to require proof of vaccination for those who carry out activities in these 6 sectors.

This proof of vaccination will later use the Pedulilindungi application and website or carelindungi.id.
“Every time we register “The vaccination status and PCR status will be known digitally automatically,” said Budi.
As a first step, next week the government plans to start requiring proof of vaccination in several malls, in collaboration with the Indonesian Mall Association.

Visitors who will enter or engage in public activities must go through a screening process that will determine whether they have been vaccinated or not.
“If the person concerned has been vaccinated, he will enter and will receive a looser protocol than those who have not been vaccinated,” explained Budi.
He likens the implementation of this policy to smoking areas in public places. There is a special place or treatment for those who have not been vaccinated.
“So for vaccines, maybe one table can be four, you can open masks. But those who have not been vaccinated must be on the same table and must be placed in an open space,” he added.

In this trial of the mandatory vaccine policy in public places, the government only implemented it in a few cities.
“Trials of opening shopping centers/malls will be carried out in the cities of Jakarta, Bandung, Surabaya, Semarang, with a capacity of 25 percent over the next week with strict health protocols,” said Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs Luhut Binsar. Panjaitan.
Children under 12 years old and parents over 70 years old are temporarily prohibited from entering the mall/shopping center.
