Meghan Markle’s best friend, Jessica Mulroney, has been accused by Instagram followers of copying designs by another label for her new suit collection, DailyMail.com can reveal.
The Canadian stylist, 41, has been hinting at the new clothing line since June 16 and posted his first design photo on Friday with the caption: ‘First recall. What do you think?’
But it’s not just the window panes that look like a 2018 design by British labels Ralph and Russo; the photo that Mulroney claimed to be his was actually a campaign image created to sell the original suit on Net-a-Porter.
A now-deleted copy of the Net-a-Porter image, obtained by DailyMail.com, is identical to the one Mulroney posted on Instagram in every respect.

Toronto-based Mulroney has had a torrid year, having been accused of ‘racist bullying’ of a black influencer following the murder of George Floyd.
Sasha Exeter claims Mulroney ‘committed a personal offense’ when he asked bloggers to use their platform to promote Black Lives Matter and that private messages between the two had left him ‘paralyzed with fear’.
Mulroney later apologized but was removed from several TV shows, including the fashion slot on Good Morning America.
The row also caused a rift between Meghan and Mulroney, with the Duchess of Sussex telling friends at the time that she didn’t want to get involved.
“Meghan is really embarrassed that she was dragged into this mess,” a close friend told DailyMail.com at the time.
‘He said Jessica wasn’t racist at all, but the way she handled the situation’ [with Sasha] is tone-deaf and heartbreaking.
‘Meghan says friends mirror friends and because of what’s at stake she can no longer be associated with Jessica, at least not in public.’

Mulroney and Meghan have been good friends since meeting after Meghan moved to Toronto in 2011 to shoot the legal drama Suits.
He was one of the guests at St. Chapel. George was at Windsor when Meghan and Harry married, while his daughter Ivy was one of the bridesmaids.
Mulroney is also believed to be one of the “five friends” who briefed People magazine on Meghan’s 2018 story of lashing out at her father Thomas Markle Sr, 76, for his outburst in the media.
She also attended Meghan’s luxurious baby shower in New York ahead of the birth of Archie’s first child in May 2019.
But the pair haven’t spent time together since the Sussexes’ move to California and their friendship has cooled since the race.
Although Mulroney has posted photos of flowers sent to him by Meghan, he recently dedicated a post to his ‘best friend’ – leaving the Duchess of Sussex.
She made her defense after an Oprah interview in March, writing on Instagram: ‘I didn’t know anyone had to deal with pressure, politics and the press like this woman.
‘In the face of it all, I’ve never seen him waver from kindness, empathy and love.’
