Become an Accident Victim, This is the Amount of Jasa Raharja Insurance Compensation

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – PT Jasa Raharja (Persero) is a State-Owned Enterprise (BUMN) which manages insurance for public transport passengers, private vehicle passengers, and pedestrians. This means that the three categories will receive insurance compensation from Jasa Raharja if they become victims of an accident.

The following is the amount of Jasa Raharja compensation for accident victims:

  • Death benefit: IDR 50 million
  • Permanent Disability Compensation (maximum): IDR 50 million
  • Maintenance compensation (maximum): IDR 20 million for land and sea transportation users and IDR 25 million for air transportation users
  • Compensation for reimbursement of burial costs if the victim has no heirs: IDR 4 million
  • Compensation for additional benefits (first aid fee reimbursement): IDR 1 million
  • Compensation for additional benefits (ambulance replacement): IDR 500,000.

The Right to Indemnity becomes invalid/expires if:

  • The request is submitted within 6 months after the accident.
  • No billing will be made within 3 months after this has been approved by Jasa Raharja.

Compensation is given to the heirs with the following priority scale:

  • Official Widow/Widower
  • His legitimate children
  • His parents are legal
  • If there are no heirs, then the funeral costs are given to the organizer.

How to claim?

Requirements Document

  • Request an accident certificate from the local Lakalantas Police Unit or similar authorized agency (eg PT KAI for trains and Shah Bandar for ships).
  • Make a health or death certificate from the hospital.
  • Bring the victim’s identity (original and photocopy) such as:
  • Family Card (KK).
  • Identity Card (KTP).
  • Marriage certificate.
  • Visit the Jasa Raharja office and fill out the form, including:
  1. Compensation application form.
  2. Accident short form.
  3. Victim’s health form.
  • Statement of heirs if the victim dies.
  • Submit the form and attach supporting documents to the officer.
  • For injured victims who receive treatment must have:
  1. Police report along with a sketch of the crime scene (TKP) or accident reports from other authorities.
  2. Medical expense receipts, original and valid drug receipts issued by the Hospital.
  3. Photocopy of the victim’s ID card.
  4. Power of attorney from the victim to the recipient of the compensation (if authorized) accompanied by a photocopy of the ID card of the victim receiving the compensation.
  5. Photocopy of referral letter if the victim moves to another hospital.
  6. For Victims who are injured become disabled:
  7. Police reports with crime scene sketches or other accident reports by authorities.
  8. Certificate of permanent disability from the doctor who treated the victim.
  9. Photocopy of the victim’s ID card.

  • For Victims who were injured and later died:

  • For Victims who died at the scene:
  1. Police reports with crime scene sketches or other accident reports by authorities.
  2. Death certificate from the hospital or death certificate from the kelurahan if the victim is not taken to the hospital.
  3. Copy of ID card of victim and heirs.
  4. Photocopy of KK.
  5. Photocopy of marriage certificate for the victim who is married.
  6. Photocopy of birth certificate or birth certificate for unmarried victims.

Criteria for Accident Victims Who Don’t Get Compensation from Jasa Raharja

  • The victim suffered injuries as a result of breaking into the rail fence.
  • Victims who have an accident are proven to have committed a criminal act (eg a thief who is speeding on the road because he wants to run away).
  • The driver who causes the accident of two or more motor vehicles.
  • Accident victims who proved drunk.
  • Victims of accidental accidents due to suicide or attempted suicide.
  • The victim was injured due to participating in fast races, such as car racing and motorcycle racing.
