Aunt May Replaces Peter Parker Into Spider-Man!

Aunt May aka Aunt May is an ordinary human character in Marvel who always supports Peter Parker aka Spider-Man under any circumstances. It could even be said that Peter’s condition was very dependent on the existence of Aunt May, who was Peter’s only surviving family, and who had cared for him since childhood. If Aunt May died, maybe Peter wouldn’t be the jolly person he is today. While Peter might think of Aunt May as a mother figure as well as an old woman who needs to be protected, it turns out that Aunt May has a secret identity as Spider-Ma’am!

Similar to Aunt May in the main universe, May Parker aka Spider-Ma’am in Earth-3123 is the best Spider-Man in the multiverse. Spider-Ma’am makes his comic debut What if? #23 by writer Steve Skeates and illustrator Alan Kupperberg in 1980. While he was originally just an ordinary human being busy taking care of his nephew named Peter Parker, everything changed when Peter forgot his lunch while on a study tour. A worried Aunt May then follows Peter on a study tour and ends up getting lost in the laboratory. It was there that Aunt May was bitten by a radioactive spider.

After being bitten by a radioactive spider, Aunt May was surprised to find her body very healthy and fit, even stronger and more agile. He then donned the Spider-Ma’am costume to hide his secret identity, he then used his new powers to make money to provide for his family. Until finally he faced a villain named Leap-Frog, a frogman who uses springs in his legs. After Spider-Ma’am manages to defeat Leap-Frog, he begins to realize the purpose of his powers, which is to eradicate evil. “With great power comes great responsibility.”

However, no matter how hard Aunt May hides her identity as Spider-Ma’am from the family, finally Peter and Uncle Ben find out her secret identity after the events in Spider-Verse forced Aunt May to reveal her true identity. Thankfully, it turned out that Peter and Uncle Ben accepted Aunt May as she was, and supported her no matter what. Peter even created a new web-shooter so Aunt May could use it to fight crime. In another story, Aunt May as Spider-Ma’am even worked with Mile Morales to eradicate multiverse evil.

With the kind-hearted Spider-Ma’am, the world seems to be doing just fine. Because the threat of any crime will soon be resolved by Spider-Ma’am who loves the world as he loves his own family. Although this story is only told in Marvel Comics, with the multiverse unfolding in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, it’s not impossible that the character Spider-Ma’am could appear in the future of the MCU. Hopefully we can see the emergence of MCU’s Aunt May (Marisa Tomei) as Spider-Ma’am in the MCU in the future.
