Daniel Radcliffe has crushed hopes for his 20th birthday Harry Potter reunion. first movie, Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone, premiered in November 2001, making this November the 20th anniversary of the beginning of the beloved film franchise. The franchise, spanning a total of eight films, ended a decade later with Deathly Hallows: Part 2 in 2011.
For ten years, Harry Potter The franchise has spawned a large number of alumni of famous cast, large international fan bases, and countless other intellectual property from theme parks to museums. The hugely popular films—the last to become the 13th highest-grossing film of all time—are increasing admiration for JK Rowling’s original novels. Due to the intense fanfare surrounding the touchstone of global pop culture, there have been many unofficial and (semi)official cast reunions. Recently, players reunited during the Covid-19 pandemic to raise money for charity in a virtual event hosted and hosted by Tom Felton, who plays Draco Malfoy.

However, in a recent interview with AND, Daniel Radcliffe, who famously played the titular character, doubts the possibility of 20 years Harry Potter reunion. Radcliffe, who is currently promoting Miracle Worker season 3, explained that he is currently filming in the Dominican Republic and will then be busy working on other projects throughout the year. Although the actor could see a general celebration going on, he apologized for the possible absence of a planned reunion of the cast. The good news, however, is that HBO Max is planning a quiz and special event to celebrate its anniversary. Read what Radcliffe has to say below:
“I’m in the Dominican Republic at the moment filming and then I’ll be busy, working bit by bit until the end of the year. So yeah, I don’t know. I’m sure there. will be a kind of celebration but I don’t know if we will get together or what. I’m sorry if that disappoints anyone a bit.”
Radcliffe, of course, isn’t the only busy ex potter cast member. Given that there are only three main cast members, Radcliffe is currently starring alongside Steve Buscemi in the TBS anthology series, Miracle Worker, and in the Dominican Republic is shooting the upcoming action romantic comedy, The Lost City of D, which also stars Brad Pitt and Sandra Bullock. Rupert Grint (Ron Weasley) is currently starring in the Apple TV+ series M. Night Shyamalan, Waiter, which just finished its second season earlier this year and was renewed for a third season. Emma Watson’s (Hermione Granger) latest acting role is in the remake of the critically acclaimed 2019 film. Little lady, although Watson has also been heavily involved in various forms of activism over the years.
Although Harry Potter fans may be disappointed by the lack of a proper 20th anniversary reunion, they have more to look forward to. A museum exhibit showcasing the recreated wonders will tour starting in 2022 to celebrate the book’s 25th anniversary. spinoff theater play, Harry Potter & the Cursed Child expected to reopen sometime in 2022. Third release in Fantastic Beasts the spin-off franchise, which delayed filming due to the pandemic, is expected in 2022 as well. Besides, there’s almost always something new Harry Potter content on the horizon, which may or may not include the rumored mysterious HBO Max project.
