Instead of intimidating, these DC villains actually look absurd and not threatening!
Warner Bros. has released Suicide Squad (2021) on August 5 in some countries. Unfortunately, Indonesia has not been able to enjoy the film in theaters. This film, directed by James Gunn, introduces many characters who never appeared in the first film Suicide Squad (2016) as well as in previous DC films.
Film Suicide Squad featuring various DC villains that look quite intimidating in terms of appearance and strength. Besides that, Suicide Squad instead featuring a variety of DC villains whose looks and powers look pretty ridiculous. In fact, the DC comics universe does have some pretty absurd villains!
So, who are the DC villains with ridiculous looks and powers?
1. Polka-Dot Man
Batman has faced a series of terrible and clever villains throughout its history. However, did you know that Batman has faced a villain named Polka-Dot Man? When compared to other Batman villains, Polka-Dot Man certainly looks ridiculous. He wears a costume with colorful polka dots and has the power to turn dots into bombs.
Interestingly, Polka-Dot Man is actually made as a character with a story that is so tragic in Suicide Squad. Director James Gunn deliberately chose Polka-Dot Man in his film because he wanted to prove that a character that had been considered ridiculous could also be present with a tragic background. Your view of Polka-Dot Man might change after watching Suicide Squad.
Polka-Dot Man isn’t the only absurd villain Batman has ever faced. Batman also faces Calendar Man. Like Batman, Calendar Man doesn’t have super powers either. However, he is known for committing crimes according to holidays and important dates on the calendar.
To make the action more authentic, Calendar Man also often wears costumes tailored to the date he committed the crime. In the early days of his appearance in the comics, Calendar Man was made a goofy villain. But until here, the Calendar Man began to be made as a terrible villain in the comics. This villain also appears as a minor character in Suicide Squad.
3. The King of Spices
Batman seems to have dealt with absurd villains quite often throughout his career. The superhero also faces a villain named Condiment King. Not in the comics, Condiment King debuts in the series Batman: Animated Series. This villain is told as a comedian with the real name Buddy Standler.
My friend once entered a comedy contest but it didn’t work and damaged his reputation. Disappointed, the Joker brainwashes you to make you decide to take revenge with the identity of the Spice King. True to its name which means King of Spices, King of Spices uses mustard, ketchup, tabasco sauce, and vinegar as weapons.
Once again, one of the Batman villains is back on this list, namely Kite Man. As the name suggests, Kite Man armed himself with a kite while committing crimes. Kite Man usually flies by using a giant kite strapped to him.
Throughout his appearance in the DC universe, Kite Man is often used as a joke character because he lacks superpowers, is stupid, and is weak for a villain. For this reason, director James Gunn hesitated to include Kite Man in the Suicide Squad. However, Gunn did not rule out that Kite Man will appear in the sequel to the film.
After the four points above discuss the Batman villain, this point will introduce you to the absurd villain who is the mortal enemy of the Doom Patrol superhero team. If you take a look at the photo above, you’ll understand why this villain looks ridiculous. You see, he put his gun in his crotch. Turns out, there’s a history as to why she looks the way she does.
While still in high school, Codpiece asked the girl he liked on a date. The girl refused on the grounds that the Codpiece was not big enough. The girl actually meant about Codpiece’s height. However, Codpiece actually thought the girl said her genitals weren’t big enough.
Because of that, Codpiece felt inferior to the size of his genitals. When he decided to dive into the criminal world, Codpiece then made a special costume that put a weapon in his crotch. Can you imagine how absurd the Codpiece weapon is?
That’s a row of villains with ridiculous looks and powers that exist in the DC universe. Of the five DC villains above, which do you think is the most ridiculous?
