There are advantages to being a celebrity – fame and a sizeable financial war chest that comes with the purchasing power to buy almost any car you could ever want. Of course, some of these celebrities don’t really care about cars and will drive anything that gets them from point A to B. However, it’s not uncommon to find sports stars, actors, or social media celebrities with garages that fit more cars. than they ever needed.
For some of these people, it’s not just enough to buy a car; they should go the extra mile to add lots of personal touches that give the car its own identity. In some cases, the end result justifies the expense of time, effort, and money, but many other disappointing examples defy any logic or reason.
On this list, you’ll find an eclectic mix of celebrities and their worst and most unusual cars that we definitely don’t want to drive.
Kim Kardashian – Fluffy Manage
Kim, like her other sisters, is passionate about cars. In June 2021, the reality show star and businesswoman caused a stir when she unveiled a new strategy to market her underwear brand. Car enthusiasts and we dare say even people outside the car community, share a collective breath of horror at Lamborghinis covered in some sort of faux wool.
Kim went all out with this and the material covers not only the exterior but every part of the interior as well. The Urus is an excellent engine with a twin-turbo 4.0-liter V8 engine that produces over 600 hp. It would be nice to take one for a spin but not when it looks like this.
Jojo Siwa – Tesla ‘Face Wrap’
Jojo Siwa is a celebrity in his own right; someone who cleverly uses social media tools to project his image, gaining millions of followers and fans in the process. It’s hard not to like her cheerful personality and charm. Only the car, the Tesla Model X, leaves us scratching our heads.
The luxury car was completely covered with the image of his face. The Model X is practically silent and there’s no internal combustion engine to pay attention to, but then Jojo definitely found a way to get you to pay attention to the car everywhere it turns.
Jeffree Star – Dawn With Attitude
Here’s one star who isn’t afraid of bright colors and his garage contains several high-performance engines decorated in bright pinks or greens. One of his most recent acquisitions is a Rolls Royce Dawn which has been tailored to the star’s tastes.
This time, Jeffree opted for yellow and showed a bit of restraint. Every part of the car has received that color treatment; even the wheels are not abandoned. Of course, it all comes down to personal preference in the end, but we’d happily skip this for the more conventional ones.
Chris Brown – Huracan Bling
Chris Brown loves cars and can afford whoever he wants. What is also known about him is how he likes to customize his cars; from body kits to outrageous wraps. If you need further proof, take a look at this Huracan, one of the cars in his current collection.
The supercar has received a widebody Liberty Walk kit which makes it look even more aggressive and then the drama is further enhanced by a few notches with a glossy wrap that not only shines but changes color.
Will-I-Am – Tesla Gone Wild
Another celebrity who is famous for being very creative with his cars is Will-I-Am. The American music artist has always been open about his love of cars and once partnered with Chrysler to found his own car company called IAMAUTO.
It’s unclear if it ever materialized, but judging by the musician’s personal collection, potential customers might find the design a little over the top. Take this Tesla Model S for example; suicide doors, a ‘rimless’ effect, and a rear that doesn’t add functionality and just makes the car look a bit clunky.
Ryan Gosling – Low Prius
By all standards, Ryan Gosling is a rather successful film star with a net worth just north of $50 million. You wouldn’t know it if you looked at one of his favorite daily drivers – the Toyota Prius.
Ryan is an advocate for green cars and this provides some context to his vehicle choices, but of course, there are several such cars on the market today with decidedly more luxurious designs and features. One thing Toyota loves is the fact that it’s the perfect car if you intend to sneak under the radar and escape the scrutiny of the hovering paparazzi.
Derrick McFadden – Buick Halloween Horror
This bizarre show once belonged to American footballer Derrick McFadden and we can only wonder what inspired him to imagine this eccentric. Did she have an interest in Barney as a child? Whatever the case, there’s no excuse for this tailor-made 1973 Buick Centurion.
The car sits on ridiculous 32″ wheels and features a custom lift system suspension setup, two-tone leather upholstery, and a premium audio system (of course). This is an ‘attention grabber’ no doubt but one we’d be happy to skip. to keep our sanity.
Justin Bieber – Rolls For The Future
This one actually started life pretty innocently as a posh Rolls Royce Wraith, until it found its way into Bieber’s private car collection. The musical sensation wasted no time in shipping the car to West Coast Customs where they went on to turn the car into this futuristic piece.
The team at the car mod shop literally stripped the car of its shell and built a new one from scratch, complete with wild wheel covers that make it look like the car is hovering on asphalt.
Kanye West – Manage A Tan’s Profits
While his ex-wife decided to turn his Urus into a woolly sheep, Kanye went a different route and instead covered his Lamborghini Urus with some sort of drab brown paint that would leave you completely confused. She seems to have something for that color; it’s one of the standout shades in her wardrobe.
As if the colors weren’t flashy enough, Kanye went on and added a ridiculous set of polished aluminum wheels to the car. It’s the kind of thing you do when you’re bored and have the resources to do whatever you want, including wrecking a $200,000 SUV.
Will-I-Am – Bug On Steroids
It doesn’t take much to understand why the quirky celebrity deserves second place on this list. Amazingly, this car started out as a classic 1958 VW Beetle even though almost every part was stripped to make this unique build. The project reportedly took about 4 years and nearly a million dollars to complete.
According to one of the builders, Will keeps calling to suggest car modifications that might explain why the car looks the way it does. It’s hard to understand the logic behind the car, but then, it’s nearly impossible to find a Will car that fits the conventional mold.
In terms of looks, a set of rims can make or break a sports car. Thankfully, this supercar comes with really sick rims straight from the factory.
